Powder Sessions
Clouds of powder spray off the back of my skis as I make new tracks on the virgin landscape, through glens, valleys and corridors: I’m on the slopes in Montgenèvre!
The village resort boasts an infinite choice of traverse itineraries from slope to mountainside, border to border. In the background, some of the most beautiful summits in the Alps preside in the sun: La Barre des Ecrins, Mount Viso…
Numerous wide, fun or sporty off-piste itineraries unfurl themselves.
Here in Montgenèvre, deep powder flirts with well groomed slopes. This immense playground offers exceptional snow, sunshine and great off-piste opportunities. Safe free-ride areas are easily accessible. Don’t forget to carry a shovel, a probe and an electronic avalanche rescue devise (ARVA).
Whatever you level of skiing, in Montgenèvre a carpet of fresh snow awaits you. If you lack experience in the powder then simply call a professional. Both ski schools in resort propose a number of activities. If you’re skiing alone then make sure you carry the necessary equipment: shovel, probe and an electronic avalanche rescue device (ARVA). It would be unreasonable to venture off-piste without these. Remember to inform somebody of your destination and time schedule. If possible do not go off-piste alone. Check the weather, snow conditions and itineraries with a guide, instructor or a member of staff.
Some of the best free-ride skiers enjoy filming in Montgenèvre! For his come back, Candide Thovex paid a visit to some of the best free ride spots in the resort.
